The students of GIIS participated in the KLCA/RSC U16 Interclub T20 tournament 2018. It was held in April at Royal Selangor Club. Four teams participated in the tournament; they were Royal Selangor Club (RSC), MSS Kuala Lumpur, SM Sains Alam Shah and Global Indian International School (GIIS).

The tournament was played in a round robin format with the top 2 teams playing in the finals. In the preliminary round GIIS finished top and RSC second. In the final match, RSC won the toss and put GIIS in to bat first. GIIS scored 132 runs and lost 2 wickets. Tanish Arora was the top scorer with a score of 40 not out, followed by Nimrat Khalsa at 34, Sharveen Surendran at 20 and Yuvraj Narasimha Madeswaran at 11.

RSC scored 60 runs in the 18 overs leading to GIIS’s victory with a margin of 72 runs. Pick of GIIS bowlers were Nimrat Khalsa, Sharveen Surendran and Mann Unadkat who took 2 wickets each.

The Best Bowler award for the tournament went to Nimrat Khalsa who took a total of 10 wickets. Tanish Arora bagged the Best Batsman award for his 62 runs in 2 innings, including a fine unbeaten 40 runs in the final match. Sharveen Surendran got Best All Rounder award for his exceptional All Round performance scoring a total of 70 runs and taking 9 wickets in 4 matches.

The country director, Mr. Manoj Nair and the Principal Mr. Harvendra Singh Khalsa congratulated the team and the winners of individual awards. The students were commended for their team work and co-ordination.
